PROPERLY DONE A WHOLE FOOD, PLANT-BASED DIET IS THE HEALTHIEST WAY YOU CAN EAT.
We now know that not only do we not need animals and their secretions to survive and thrive, but that they are detrimental to our health.[10]  World Health Organisation (WHO) classifies processed meat as a Type 1 carcinogen and other meat as Type 2. [1]

 

Canada has removed dairy from their healthy food pyramid. [2]

Professional atheletes have stated that since becoming vegan their performance has improved, they have reduced their recovery time and credit their new world records to the power of their food.
The largest body of nutrition professionals in the world, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, states, "well-planned vegan diets are appropriate for individuals during all stages of life, including pregnancy, infancy, childhood and for athletes." [3]

The diet, particularly of 'affluent' nations such as USA, UK, New Zealand and Australia is founded on meat and dairy consumption.  It's in everything and our health is paying the price.

How, when we have access to so much food are so many people dying of 'mal' (poor) nutrition?

The leading causes of death in USA (and New Zealand is similar) are heart disease, cancer, diabetes, strokes and liver failure.  Every year around 650,000 Americans die from heart disease alone!

And if meat and dairy were as nutritious and crucial as big industry would like us to believe, why are we told we also need to supplement our diet with vitamin pills?

And if dairy really does help build healthy, strong bones, how come Western countries have the highest rates of osteoporosis?

There is NO fibre in any kind of animal protein.

There is NO cholesterol in plants.

The China Study

 

The book, The China Study is based on one of the largest comprehensive studies of human nutrition ever conducted, launched via a partnership between Cornell University, Oxford University, and the Chinese Academy of Preventative Medicine, with data collected over a span of 20 years.

The best selling book examines the connection between nutrition and heart disease, diabetes, and cancer and the source of nutritional confusion produced by powerful lobbies, government entities, and opportunistic scientists. The China Study is hailed as one of the most important books about diet and health ever written.

In the 13 years since it was published, it inspired influential figures like Bill Clinton to go vegan, a plant-based nutrition certificate program at Cornell that’s popular among chefs, nutritionists, and health coaches, and the documentary Forks Over Knives.
